As you know, I’m a big fan of Neal’s Yard Remedies and organic products. I always think there’s not much point being careful about what you eat if you continue to slather your skin in a cocktail of noxious chemicals! But Neal’s Yard isn’t just about skincare, far from it; they’ve just brought out a new book called Healing Foods, written by Susan Curtis, Director for Natural Health at Neal’s Yard. Its aim is to help people eat their way to a healthier life.
It’s packed full of fascinating information about how you can use food to treat various medical conditions, as well as loads of tasty, super-healthy recipes. But don’t just take my word for it – check out this great review from The Telegraph.
There are sections of advice on eating for (amongst other things) healthy pregnancy, skin conditions, energy and stress relief. We can’t always control whether or not we become ill or develop a particular condition, but we can at least control what we eat. As Hippocrates said, “Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. Wise man!
If you’d like to buy a copy of Healing Foods please visit my Neal’s Yard online shop.
Yes, it’s that time of year again. Bonfire Night’s over, it’s dark before teatime and – whether we like it or not – Christmas is on the way! The telly’s full of sparkly ads for perfume, liqueurs and party frocks, and you suddenly wonder how you’re going to find the time to Do It All between now and Christmas Eve – especially the major task of buying presents for family and friends. When you’re hard-working and time-poor Christmas shopping can become more of a chore than a pleasure, fighting your way through crowded streets, standing in endless queues to pay, getting snappy with the kids, arguing with your partner about what to get for their mum… sound familiar?! Of course there’s always the Amazon easy way out, but do you really want to give your custom to a company that does all it can to avoid paying UK tax? I certainly don’t!
Well fear not gentle reader, for I am about to relieve you of all this stress via the fragrant medium of my Neal’s Yard Christmas shopping service. Of course Neal’s Yard products are organic and gorgeous – but did you know that they are also handmade in the UK by a family-owned company? Surely at a time like this we should be supporting independent British businesses?
You can shop from the comfort of your own home in several ways:
Men! It’s common knowledge that most of you are rubbish at present shopping – this isn’t sexist, it’s just a fact. I’m sure there must be some men out there who are good at present buying, I’ve just never met one yet. If you’re at a loss as to what to buy this Christmas for the women in your life please get in touch and I can help you; wives, girlfriends, mistresses, mums, aunties, daughters, sisters, grannies etc – no problem!
So save your sanity and have a browse at all the lovely Neal’s Yard present ideas – body and bath smellies, home fragrance, men’s stuff, there’s something for everyone. Here are a few selected highlights I’ve picked out for you, but there’s lots of other fab stuff too.
Anyone else feeling a bit deflated now all the excitement of the Olympics is over? What will we do with those extra hours in the day that we never knew we had?! Well I for one will be doing a few more Neal’s Yard parties. If you’re a recessionista with no treats planned in the near future (or if you just love fab smellies!) why don’t you consider hosting one? It really is a great deal. First you get to choose from a selection of exclusive gifts (not available in the shops) just for holding the party; at the minute I have Sensual Jasmine Body Cream, Honey and Orange Facial Scrub or Lavender Shampoo available. I’ll do tailored mini facials or rejuvenating hand treatments for your guests; then if they spend £150 or over between them you get some free and half price shopping too – so in effect you get your friends to pay for your organic goodies! There’s more info here, or just give me a shout to book a date. It’s a fun summer night in – Pimms optional!
Maybe you’ve returned from holiday dreading the thought of going back to work… or with kids starting school, looking for a part-time job? If you’re a student at college or university you may be looking for a way to earn some extra money. Why not consider joining my Neal’s Yard team? I’d love to have some more people on board before the Christmas rush starts – yes, it will be here before we know it! For the month of August only you can join Neal’s Yard as a consultant for just £45 (usual price £95) and receive a starter kit worth around £120. Where else can you start your own business for as little as that? The kit contains the multi-award winning Beauty Sleep Concentrate, which is worth £30 alone.
It’s a great way to do some discounted Christmas shopping yourself too! Selling Neal’s Yard products is also a fabulous add-on for any therapy business – use them in your treatments and your customers will soon start to buy them! If you’re interested please feel free to contact me any time for a chat, or if you can’t wait to sign up you can do it here. Starting your own home-based business could be your 2012 challenge!
